About us
The purpose of the PACTS Alumni Organization is to enable PACTS alumni to stay connected to one another and to the current students in the PACTS program at the Franklin Institute. We seek to increase the number of responsible young men and women who enter college and excel academically and positively affect their community.
The Primary objectives of the PACTS Alumni Association are:
· Increase student recruitment and retention
· Continue mentoring of students
· Improve alumni program development
· Increase alumni giving and membership
The Alumni Committee also administers the Gilbert A. West Jr. Scholarship Program. Gilbert was in the first class of PACTS Explainers at The Franklin Institute, who graduated to become a successful Computer Engineer and Entrepreneur. Gilbert unfortunately passed away in 2008. In honor of his legacy, the Alumni Committee has awarded over $3,000 in scholarship funds to graduating Explainers of the PACTS Program. Contributions to the scholarship funds are accepted on an ongoing basis, and are recoqnized as tax-deductible contributions to The Franklin Institute Science Museum.
The PACTS Alumni Committee is always looking for new membership to support our efforts. PACTS Graduates, Family Members, and Friends of the Program are welcome. Please contact Board Coordinator Manuel Smith via email address msmith -at- fi-dot-edu for more information.
